About URMMA

Utah Risk Management Mutual Association (URMMA) was created in 1985 as a direct response to the commercial insurance industry’s refusal to provide affordable liability insurance to cities in Utah. As a result, a number of cities joined together and created URMMA through an Interlocal Agreement to meet the risk management and insurance needs of Utah cities.

Risk management, rather than insurance, has been URMMA’s hallmark since inception. Members receive a detailed rigorous annual inspection and adhere to membership standards that ensure attention is focused where losses might be expected. This risk management approach is backed up by strong insurance program with broad coverage and high limits.

Today, URMMA continues to meet its members’ needs through an organization that is controlled by its members and driven by a service oriented approach. URMMA’s programs continue to produce results and keep costs at a minimum.
